3,688 Barangay Facilities to be funded by RAY-DILG November 24, 2014
The Recovery Assistance on Yolanda (RAY), under the Office of the Project Development Services (OPDS) of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will fund the rehabilitation of 3,688 facilities from the 2,798 barangays affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda last November 8, 2013.
The second batch of RAY-DILG funding with a total of Php 1.57B is intended to rehabilitate partially-damaged barangay facilities such as barangay halls, day care centers and civic centers in Regions IV-B, V, VI, VII and VIII.
On the other hand, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will handle the reconstruction of 13 totally-damaged infrastructures in Region VIII valued at Php 359.37M.
In addition to these, the second batch of funds will also be used to subsidize the rehabilitation of seven (7) municipal facilities amounted to Php 27.07M which were not funded under the first batch.
The second batch of funds for RAY-DILG dated June 2, 2014 by virtue of Special Allotment Release Order (SARO)- BMB-D-14-0006256 was released to the DILG Regional Offices last November 13, 2014. The funds will be released to the LGU’s by the first week of December alongside the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The construction of the barangay facilities is scheduled to start by January 2015.
